Meet the Newest Addition to Our Team: Johnny Sijm

Good news! Starting this week, Alterdesk has a new team member: Sales Director Johnny Sijm.

We have asked Johnny to tell us a little about his work activities and expertise, so that it is clear how he can help you and your organization.

Welcome Johnny! What is it that you will be doing at Alterdesk?

At Alterdesk, I will mainly focus on professionalizing our sales organization and supporting and expanding our partner network.

Efficient and secure communication is a challenge for many healthcare organizations and organizations in other privacy sensitive sectors, such as banking and insurance. As such, I see a growing demand from organizations in the Netherlands and abroad for secure messaging solutions.

I believe the Alterdesk messenger is the best solution available for organizations who wish to communicate efficiently and securely, which also offers possibilities for new healthcare practices and services, such as e-consultations and telecare. This will result in better, safer healthcare and a better patient experience.

I am looking forward to helping our customers and partners with this.

In order to service both the Dutch market and the international market as well as possible, the expansion of the partner network is my priority. Our ideal partner is an organization that is already active in healthcare or other relevant sectors – think of, for example, telecom companies and software companies such as EHR-suppliers.

Could you tell us some more about your career thus far?

My passion lies in sales and business development, mainly internationally oriented. I believe that international partnerships, learning from other cultures and sharing local experiences help businesses grow.

For the past 15+ years I have had multiple sales-related positions such as Account Manager, International Business Manager and Chief Business Development Officer. I have gained a lot of experience in both the software and healthcare markets. I have also had the opportunity to collaborate with Niels Greidanus, our CEO, to set up a globally successful partner network for his previous software company.

Besides my passion for sales, I get a lot of satisfaction from striving to achieve Alterdesk’s main goal: contributing to more efficient, more secure healthcare.

How would you describe your way of working? What is your expertise?

I would describe my way of working as hands-on, pro-active and structured, while not losing sight of the final goal. In my drive for commercial success, the interests of customers and partners are always central.

In my new position, I will also share my broad experience in and knowledge of sales and the healthcare market with our partners.

What is it you like best about your job? What drives you?

The thing I like best about my job is helping customers and partners, in order to become more successful together. The success of our customers and partners also determines my success and that of Alterdesk. By assisting them as well as possible, we can fulfill our mission and become ‘the number one platform for healthcare communication’.

I also think it is great when, after a long trajectory of investing in a market / country, you can see the results of your efforts.
